TOXIC METAL TESTING OR TISSUE HAIR MINERAL ANALYSIS

Toxic Metal Testing is an initial screening test using hair tissue. It is a good way of determining levels of toxic metals circulating in a person’s blood over the last couple of months.

Tissue Hair mineral analysis (THMA) is an inexpensive and non-invasive way of measuring mineral and heavy metal levels, often revealing abnormalities and dysfunctions not detected through other routine tests.

Nutrient mineral levels and their comparative relationships (ratios) determine how well your cells function and impact physical and cognitive performance. The goal is to correct body chemistry and improve cell functioning using THMA as a guide.

What can a Hair Mineral Analysis test reveal?

Hair Mineral Analysis test is a screening test and not a diagnostic one.

However, a correctly interpreted hair mineral analysis test can reveal various mineral imbalances that indicate a tendency for various health conditions such as:

    • Heavy metal toxicity
    • Mineral deficiencies and imbalances
    • Metabolic rate (Fast or slow)
    • Adrenal fatigue
    • Thyroid function
    • Nervous system imbalances
    • Protein synthesis
    • Inflammation
    • Energy levels
    • Liver and kidney stress
    • Blood sugar imbalances

Why test for Minerals?

Minerals are essential for life. They are involved in almost all enzyme reactions in the body. Hair mineral test can reveal a variety of minerals, trace elements and heavy metals such as:

    • 8 toxic heavy metals (antimony, arsenic, aluminium, beryllium, cadmium, lead, mercury, uranium)
    • 29 minerals and trace elements (calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, copper, zinc, phosphorus, iron, manganese, chromium, selenium, boron, cobalt, molybdenum, sulphur, germanium, barium, bismuth, rubidium, lithium, nickel, platinum, thallium, vanadium, strontium, tin, titanium, tungsten, zirconium)
    • Mineral ratios such as calcium/phosphorus, sodium/potassium, calcium/potassium, zinc/copper, sodium/magnesium, calcium/magnesium, iron/copper
    • Toxic metals ratios to minerals such as calcium/lead, iron/lead, iron/mercury, selenium/mercury, zinc/cadmium, zinc/mercury, sulphur/mercury, sulphur/cadmium, sulphur/lead

Those minerals are necessary for proper functioning of the organs and tissues of the body but can also metastasise (store in organs where they are not supposed to be) and prevent proper function.

All the minerals have a complex interaction and affect each other. Excess intake of a single mineral can decrease the intestinal absorption of another mineral. For example, a high intake of calcium depresses intestinal zinc absorption, while an excess intake of zinc can depress copper absorption.

Why test for toxic metals?

Presently, there has been a lot of research into the subject of toxins and their effect on our health over the past few years. Every human born into this world will have a certain amount of toxic metals either directly from the mother while in the womb, or by ingesting or breathing in toxic metals in later life. The question is how much toxicity do we have?

Heavy toxic metals are everywhere and very difficult to completely avoid them in this age and time, despite the fact that we may follow a healthy diet.

By being aware that we are all toxic from the day we are born and that we are exposed to toxicity from the environment, we can choose to detoxify and eliminate those toxic metals from our bodies.

METABOLIC TYPING TEST

The metabolic typing diet test is based on the assumption that metabolism, which is a term that is used to describe all chemical reactions involved in maintaining the living state of the cells and is unique for everyone, thanks largely to the genes we have inherited from our ancestors.

NUTRITION CONSULTATION

A nutrition consultation is a session during which the practitioner takes the time to listen carefully and understand what your presenting health problems and symptoms are. It includes an exploration of one’s health problems and the creation of a plan based on individual nutritional needs.

TANITA DC-360 S

The DC-360 S is a bio-impedancemetry body composition analyser which gets full body composition analysis in 15 seconds. It shows total body water, visceral fat rating, basal metabolic rate, body mass index (BMI), body fat, muscle mass and Basal metabolic rate (BMR).
